Catechism Instruction at Shepherd of the Lakes
Christian parents are given the primary responsibility to train their children in God's Word. As a Christian congregation, it is also our privilege and joy to help parents raise their children in God's truth.
The instruction of our children at Shepherd of the Lakes involves three parts:
- Sunday School takes place after the worship service, September through May. All children are invited & encouraged to attend regularly and often.
- Beginning in 6th grade, students begin a thorough course of study through the basic teachings of God's Word, following the time-tested handbook known as the Small Catechism. The 6th grade year is completed at home with a parent teaching, using PowerPoint lessons (below) and a course booklet
- The 7th & 8th grade catechism classes are taught by Pastor Hagen on Wednesday nights, 5 - 7 PM.
The 6th grade lessons & links are below.
